Vusimozi Solani

ABOUT.

I'm a Software / DevOps Engineer on a Learnership Programme at Standard Bank, working in Platform Engineering. My day-to-day involves designing CI/CD pipelines with Harness and GitLab, managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, building Splunk observability dashboards, and integrating AI tooling like Amazon Q and Groq into real workflows.

My foundation is in Information Systems — I studied at North-West University from undergrad through Honours (Cum Laude, Dean's List), and I'm currently completing my MCom in Informatics. Along the way I built full-stack systems for real campus use and developed a deep interest in automation, reliability, and AI-powered engineering.

Microsoft Certified in Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) and Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900). Outside of work, I'm usually experimenting with local LLMs, building side projects, or watching movies to reset.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Designed, configured, and documented CI/CD pipelines using Harness and GitLab, enabling controlled and reliable deployments to staging and production environments.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Performed AWS operations including certificate lifecycle management via ACM, CLI, and CloudShell — covering rotations, unused resource identification, and compliance across Load Balancers and ECS.
